Lasted only 2 levels. Uneventful tourney. Busted with KQ on a K high flop to AK

Just warming up

The bellagio 540 is about to start. I decided to play some 5-10 nl with 400-1000 buy in. Lost my first buy in with QQ vs 33 on a J43 flop. I did raise preflop, in case you were wondering. However, the second buy in was better. 6 way limp I saw a cheap flop with 5h6h and it came 4h7h8h. I almost tripled up but one guy folded to my all in river raise. I got called by the ace high flush.

Well I am here now. Played on satellite for 175 just to get warmed up. They are kind of dumb. 15 minute levels with 1000. I busted when my AQ lost to AJ

Going to vegas next week

On Monday 6/26 I will be traveling to Las Vegas for the early WSOP events. I registered online at pokerstars for event 2. The advantage is that it cost me 1500 w dollars which I bought for 1400 real dollars. The disadvantage is that ps makes you wear their gear. I will keep you updated.

More 1/2 nl

Woke today ready to try the plaza tourney. TV for the final table. Played 1/2 nl at mirage before heading over to the plaza. I sat down with 200 dollars and put a 4 dollar stradle first hand. The first player to act made it 20 to go and one other player called. I looked down at AQo and made it 100 to go. The original raiser moves in and the other player calls. If I have less than 100 dollars left I toss it but now getting 5 to 1 I call. Both other players have KK and I flopped an ace for a nice triple up on the first hand.

Its over

Well I suppose I played the hand poorly but I am out. Blinds are at 250/500/25. I open raise with JdJs for 2000. The button, who has about 50k, calls. The flop comes 8h6h3h. I bet 5000 and the button calls. The turn is the 7d. I push my last 12k and he calls with AhJh. I am drawing dead and I am now out. Oh well.

Break after level 6

Chip count down to 16500. Limped a couple of times and missed. Missed being moved to the TV table by one spot. When my table broke the guy on my right got moved there. However, Phil Hellmuth is there so I think I made out better

level five is in the books. 10 min break. We are down to 99 tables. I am at 17600. no huge hands this level. Had AA utg with blinds at 150/300/25. Made it 1000 to go. Late position player reraised to 3800 and had only 5000 more. I moved in and he folded. He said he layed AKs. maybe I should have just called the raise.

Dinner time

Level 4 is over. A bit of a roller coaster. I am at 14k but had been near 20k. Made a little on a set of 10s. Had to lay down top pair to a big reraise. So all in all I am treading water. 150/300 next after a 1 hour dinner break.

Moved again

I am at table 54. Al Krux is in the bb when I have the button. Still at 16000

Third level was a snoozer

No big hands at 100/200. not sitting with paul phillips anymore. Stack at 16000.

Just got moved

I am now at 98 seat 8. Paul Phillips is in the 6 with13k. We break soon so I will play tight

Dead mans hand with better results

At the second break now. I have 16500. The hand that doubled me up was AcTc. I open raised from MP to 400 with the blinds at 50/100. The loose button with about 14k calls and we see a flop of T84 rainbow. I check. He bets out 1000. I make it 3000 and he calls. The turn is the Ad putting 2 diamonds on board. I push all in for my last 3200 or so and he calls with A8. The river is a meaningless 2s and now all is good in the world.

Layed aces just before the break

I am at 8400 at the first break. The first level was 25/50 for an hour and forty minutes. During the level Isaw about 6 playable hands. AQs twice which won a small pot each time. Pocket kings on the button won a 700 dollar pot. Just before the break I was ahead 200 when I was dealt 2 red aces. I open raised from middle position and made it 200 to go. I was called by the sb and we saw the flop Ts8c7c. He bet out 700 and I raised it to 1500. He immediately moved all in for 7500. I folded. I suspect he must have flopped a set. However if he overplayed QQ or JJ so be it. I can't see him making that move with 99 or a flush draw. Any comments appreciated

It is about 5 minutes from the start of the second flight. I am at table 101 seat 8. Here is what 10000 chips look like

Dead mans hand

Busted from the bellagio 540 nl halfway through the field. I won a few pots early on with top pair and a set of 7s. Then I went completely card dead for an hr. With the blinds at 100/200 with a 25 ante I was down to my last 2500 chips. I was in late position folded to me and I find 2 black 5s. I made it 1000 to go. The big stack on the button with 8000 or more flat calls the raise. The blinds fold and we see the flop Jc8c8s. I went ahead and moved in my last 1500 hoping he missed. To my surprise he called me with QhTd. The turn was the Ad and the river was the As. Any comments on the play of the hand are appreciated. His call of 1500 in a pot that contained 550/1000/1000/1500 or 4050 gives him just under 3 to 1 to hit 10 outs if he is sure they are all live so I suppose he was correct in calling.

Interesting 1/2 hand

playing 1/2 nl loose player utg raised 15 dollars but flashed a 2. He said cowboys. There were 2 other callers and I called from the bb with Q8o. Flop was K45 rainbow. It was checked to mr loose who bet. Since I knew he didn't have a king I moved in. However I was shocked that he called and showed 23. I made an 8 on the river and took down a 400 dollar pot.

I am Here

I arrived in Vegas on Wednesday July 6. I went to
Bellagio and won my second single table satellite for
the 540 buy in NL tourney. During the 1st level, my
top pr of queens was beat by AA. I was short and
survived to level 3 but went out with As8s vs 88.
Then I went to Rio and played a 540 buy in NL tourney
and made it to 26th of 240 players but missed the
money (18 players) when my 99 lost to QJs when he made
a flush. Today is another day, hopefully a little
better luck. I play the main event starting tomorrow.
Today I will take another shot at the Bellgio tourney
and see where the rest of the day takes me. I will
keep you posted.
